A woody chypre from the Crown Collection, Matsukita was first created in 1892, inspired by a Japanese princess who captivated the Victorian court, and has been reworked for today with 252 ingredients. Bergamot, pink pepper and nutmeg give a sparkling start; mate tea and Chinese imperial jasmine form a floral, woody heart with a smoky edge; oakmoss, ambers, musks and woods close it warmly. At a 25 per cent concentration, it suits a wearer drawn to depth and mystery.
