Opus XIII Silver Oud is a woody, ambery scent by Cécile Zarokian, conceived as a portrait of Julien Sorel, the hero of Stendhal's The Red and the Black. Patchouli, cypriol and Virginia cedar open with dry, earthy warmth; a heart of Assam oud and Madagascan vanilla follows, set over birch, guaiac wood, castoreum and ambrarome. Blended at a 20% oil concentration and aged for six weeks, it suits those who favour a refined, high-grade oud with quiet strength.
